River Corridor Develpment Drives Pueblo Economy

Pueblo's Arkansas River Corridor has garnered 100's of millions in investment funding, helping to drive the economy of the city.  What Longmont does will be different, perhaps more of a natural river stewardship approach, perhaps with linkage to Twin Peaks or Longmont's downtown, or the Count Fairgrounds.  Whatever route the city takes, what exists now needs to be re-examined.  Read more about Pueblo's approach at the attached article:

Pueblo lauches $100 million River Corridor District push

The city of Pueblo, Colorado has launched an ambitious progrom to create an E District for economic improvent centered around their river corridor.  Much more ambitious than anything Longmont might want to do, but an example of how other cities are finding the value inherent in their river corridor areas.

City Council to create a vision for the SAINT VRAIN River corridor!

".....The Longmont City Council voted to place the St. Vrain River Corridor Vision planning on the work plan for the City for the upcoming year.  This means that the City staff will be preparing a community outreach program to engage residents in their thoughts and ideas about the potentials of this Corridor, and its importance to the City.   ...."
